Margot Robbie has the wardrobe of every Barbie lover's dreams in Greta Gerwig's live-action Barbie film. Barbie's sense of style has been a staple throughout her existence, with the doll usually sporting outfits that could easily be categorized as "camp." In 2019, when Anna Wintour chose camp as the theme for that year's Met Gala, country singer Kacey Musgraves arrived styled as the popular doll, inspired by a Moschino X Barbie collaboration (via Harper's Bazaar). While Barbie has always inspired young girls to follow their dreams with her endless career ventures, her distinctive style has been equally as crucial to her character.
With every job Barbie takes on, she has the perfect outfit to wear. Robbie recently appeared on the cover of Vogue and took part in a Barbie-inspired photoshoot for the issue. Inside, the actress shimmered like a plastic doll in various shots, including one where she peeks out the window of a bright pink spaceship. However, her most exciting Barbie outfits appear in Gerwig's film premiering on July 21st. Robbie's outfits started gaining attention when fans first spotted her shooting the film in 2022. Now that three trailers are out, here's every one of her revealed looks ranked.

16 Barbie Bike Riding Outfit
One of the least Barbie-esque outfits appears in the Barbie main trailer during a montage when she is escaping Barbieland with Ken. Barbie and Ken wear matching plain shirts and shorts for a bike ride through a field of flowers. It's one of her simpler looks, and it doesn't scream Barbie like some of the other outfits do, though her pink Barbie Tandem bike makes up for it
15 Barbie Camping Outfit
A split second after the bike riding outfit, Barbie appears in front of her pink camper, where Ken is hanging up his socks to dry. She's wearing dark pink pants with a matching bandana withj a white button-down shirt. It's a little more Barbie than the bike riding outfit but much less impressive compared to the other revealed outfits in the trailers. Still, it's nice to see Barbie in something a little more casual.
14 Barbie Blue & White Dress
In a frightening scene, Barbie realizes she can no longer float off her roof, and instead, she falls to the ground. In this scene, she's wearing a blue and white dress, proving Barbie wears more than just pink. She appears in the outfit for only a brief scene, so it's hard to ascertain the pattern though it looks to be striped with a polka dot headband and a white heart on the chest of the mini dress. It's pretty simple but still has the Barbie aesthetic.
13 Barbie's Nightgown
While Barbie may be a plastic doll, she still has her own bed, and when she sleeps, she wears a pink nightgown. Barbie seems to wake from a nightmare in the trailer, but she still looks perfect in a baby pink ensemble, complete with teased hair and a thin headband. The nightgown shot in the trailer is quick, but it lingers long enough to see how awesome Barbie looks even when she's sleeping.
12 Barbie's Spacesuit
Barbie's spacesuit is a little unexpected as there isn't an ounce of pink on it. Instead, it's white with brown detailing, including her space boots. However, it's one of the first appearances of Barbie in one of her many career outfits. Barbie has always been able to do any job she wants, and Gerwig was smart to include an astronaut look in the trailer, even if the look would have been more of a traditional Barbie look with at least a hint of pink.
11 Barbie's Skisuit
Also in Barbie's escape from Barbieland montage is a scene of her and Ken riding on a pink snow plow. Barbie is wearing a very light pink ski suit with big furry white boots. The outfit feels very reminiscent of the early 2000s and once again showcases one of the many hobbies Barbie is skilled in.
10 Barbie's Boating Outfit
The cutest look from the montage is Barbie's boating outfit. Barbie drives her pink boat wearing a striped pink and white sailor shirt and a pink sailor hat to match. It looks like the kind of nautical outfit that would be found in a shop in Nantucket, except it's been suitably Barbie-ified. Barbie only appears from the waist up, but she's likely wearing matching pants or a skirt that makes the boating outfit even better.
9 Barbie's 60s-Inspired Blue Dress
This Barbie look feels very 60s-inspired, proving Gerwig studied every Barbie era in order to incorporate the endless fashion trends into Robbie's character's wardrobe. At this point in the trailer, Barbie is seeking advice from Kate McKinnon's doll, who is encouraging Barbie to go to the real world. Barbie's persona is wholesome as she seeks this direction, and the outfit plays into her naivety.
8 Barbie's Sailor Outfit
The sailor outfit has a similar pattern to Barbie's blue and white dress. However, the best part of this look is her blue anchor earrings and matching blue sunglasses. Barbie is lounging on the beach in this outfit as she explains to her fellow Barbie friends that she's lost the arch in her feet, and they've gone flat. Even in a moment of terror, Barbie's still dressed in a polished look that suits her perfectly.

7 Barbie's Beach Dress
Barbie mainly wears her pink plaid beach dress in the second trailer as she arrives at the pink beach and says hi to all her friends. In Barbie fashion, the dress comes with matching accessories like a pink plaid hat and a necklace with three pink seashells. The outfit defines Barbie's character because while real-life beaches are flooded with people in bathing suits and flip-flops with their hair tussled from the ocean or the wind, Barbie shows up dressed to the nines.
6 The Escape From Barbieland Outfit
Barbie's escape outfit showcases that leaving Barbieland doesn't mean she's leaving her fashion sense behind. The pastel puffy sleeve dress and beret match well with Barbie's thick blonde braid. Barbie has no intentions of switching to something comfortable for her road trip and prefers to travel in style. Like her beach outfit, she wants to dress nicely no matter where she's going.
5 Barbie's Sequin Disco Jumpsuit
Barbie's silver sequin jumpsuit is a standout piece from the trailer. It appeared in the first Barbie teaser and has been garnering attention since. Barbie wears the outfit at her house party as she dances to Dua Lipa's new song "Dance The Night." Gerwig admitted that Disco music inspired her film, and this is seen in Barbie's sequin outfit.
4 Barbie's Pink Plaid Dress
Similar to her beach outfit, Barbie also wears a longer pink plaid dress. This dress is complete with a matching hairbow, first seen when Barbie waves good morning to Barbieland and then levitates down from her roof. It was one of the first outfits seen in the Barbie trailer and looks like the kind of outfit Barbie would put on for a casual morning driving in her pink convertible. Barbie costume designers hit the nail on the head when they came up with the look.
3 Barbie's Classic 1959 Bathing Suit
The first Barbie teaser mimicked the opening of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, replacing the apes with children and their bones with baby dolls. In the middle of the isolated land, Barbie stands in her iconic 1959 bathing suit. Gerwig was smart to include the look as it's what the first Barbie doll wore, and while the brand has gone through many eras since then, incorporating more and more pink into the doll's wardrobe, it's important to acknowledge where she started.
2 Barbie's Roller Blading Outfit
One of the most popular looks that fans first laid eyes on during the 2022 Barbie filming in Venice Beach was Barbie and Ken's matching rollerblading looks. Barbie's outfit is remarkably similar to the 1994 Hot Skating Barbie, showing Gerwig's dedication to exploring all the eras of Barbie. The look also stands out because it takes place while Barbie is in the real world and differentiates her from the people around her, dressed in much duller colors. Barbie also ends up in jail in this scene after punching a man who sexually harasses her.
1 Barbie's Cowgirl Outfit
Of all the iconic Barbie looks that have been revealed so far, Barbie's fuchsia Western set takes the prize. Barbie wears this look in the real world while visiting the Mattel office and chatting with some teenage girls in a cafeteria. It feels more modern and mature than some of her other outfits while still staying true to her Barbie style. There are many more outfits to come when the Barbie film premieres, but it's going to be hard to beat the iconic, stylish, and joyful cowgirl Barbie look.
